Crossroads Church – July 7-8

One of the coolest things about being in Northern Colorado for a really long time has been getting to know the different pastors, worship leaders, and music directors in the area. One of those people is Jessica Perez, worship leader at Crossroads Church in Loveland. She is a very neat and gifted young lady with a great heart for God. Her Dad, John Smith, is the Founding and Lead pastor of Crossroads. Because Jessica just had her second child a week or so prior, and all other Crossroads worship leaders were out of town, I was asked to cover the worship leader duties for the weekend. It really was a privilege to work with their team. Crossroads has really built an awesome ministry team that have learned to work together with efficiency and respect for one another. My daughter Morgan ministered on keys and vocals as we joined with some of the Crossroads musicians to form the worship team for the weekend. We had services on Saturday and Sunday. The song “Your Name” by Paul Baloche and Glen Packium seemed to provide the window for us to touch God in all of the services. On a lighter note, we had some fun doing the Rolling Stones song “Satisfaction” for a special to set up the message, which presented the thought that love is not envious.

Vineyard Church of Ft. Collins – July 15

Another of my good worship leader friends is Randy McCoy from the Vineyard in Ft. Collins. Randy is involved in overseeing worship teams that serve multiple campuses as a part of the area Vineyard movement. He is also involved nationally with Vineyard Music organizing and facilitating events. I was honored to cover the home church worship duties for the weekend while Randy was serving elsewhere. I’ve always had a lot of respect for Senior Pastor, Rick O. He’s a good man with a genuine heart to do his part in reaching the world for God. He has become one of the leading pastors in the Vineyard movement nationally. Rick had a great message that stirred me and challenged me. My son Thomas played drums and along with some of the Vineyard musicians we experienced some powerful moments in His presence.

Campus Crusade Conference – July 17-18

Every other year or so Campus Crusade descends on Ft. Collins for several weeks of extensive training and equipping. My good friend, Jude Del Hierro from Denver, always has a hand in serving the event in worship. Jude invited me to lead worship for a specific group of Crusaders involved in inner-city ministry. It’s a huge blessing to serve and refresh missionaries in worship.

Calvary Temple – July 21–22

It was Bikers Sunday weekend at CT and Pastor Barry asked us to provide the worship. The main bikers service was the second service on Sunday morning. Things were a bit tense as a few rival biker gangs showed up in full force. The CT staff were careful to seat the biker gangs in different sections of the sanctuary and dismiss them through different doors at the close of the service. God moved powerfully. Pastor Barry had six or so of the individual gang leaders come forward to receive $500 checks to care for any of their gang members who needed help. People that know the biker scene said it was unheard of to have that mix of bikers together without having a major breakout. God proved to be bigger!!! Many lives were touched for His glory!
